Update to the bus repainting efforts…

During the last several weeks, I've also spotted a number of HARTplus paratransit vehicles sporting new liveries, in addition to local bus #2015 that I mentioned earlier. However, #2015 remains the only repainted bus in the regular fleet that sports HART's new livery. I'm sure that in the next several months, several more buses will beContinue reading "Update to the bus repainting efforts…"

HART rolls out repainted buses for local routes amid reporting record ridership levels.

Some of you may have noticed in recent weeks that many of HART's buses look like they're literally going to the dogs. Especially in respects to the exterior paint being scratched away in some areas.Rest assured; the entire fleet is in good hands. In fact, a couple buses rolled out this week with a freshContinue reading "HART rolls out repainted buses for local routes amid reporting record ridership levels."

HART proposed service changes – second update

As of the end of July, it seems that HART has approved the proposed array of fare changes and shelved some service changes until next year. What still has me upset is that HART chose to keep the Route 89 in place with no dramatic changes to that route at all.Like I had posted earlier;Continue reading "HART proposed service changes – second update"

HART service change proposals for 2008 – first revision

HART has recently revised its proposals for service adjustments for next year, based on public input. Because South Tampa services matter the most to me, I will first highlight those changes. My opinion on HART’s proposals

South Tampa - Routes 4, 19, 36, 85, and 89 First off, Routes 85, 87, 88, and 89 are all failing routes, with only a handful of riders per day. With the rising cost of gas, and the property tax rollback hurting HART's budget, it makes a lot of sense to eliminate these four routes.Continue reading "My opinion on HART’s proposals"

HART to make sweeping changes in the fall

Since I began using the HART system in the fall of 2006, I have never seen any fare and service change that would be on such a grand scale. Well people, sweeping changes are coming... According to HART's website, such changes will include increasing the base fare for regular bus service by 25 cents toContinue reading "HART to make sweeping changes in the fall"

HART Route 89…minibus? You’ve got to be kidding me?

A few days ago, I noticed that HART's route 89 connector was utilizing a minibus such as this. I thought at first, is this a joke? No, it seems to be a permanent change for the route. Why? Gas prices? Perhaps, why would HART need to continue running a 30ft Gillig bus on this route?Continue reading "HART Route 89…minibus? You’ve got to be kidding me?"

HART makes strides to create a better commute

If you haven't rode in a HART bus lately, then you'll notice some significant changes. First off, you'll notice that all the busses are equipped with audio and video surveillence. In this way, your overall safety on the bus has been increased (and those misbehaving people won't be able to get away with their crimesContinue reading "HART makes strides to create a better commute"
