PSTA Launches “Alerts” Twitter Feed

In order to better provide transit service status updates to customers, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) recently launched a dedicated Twitter Feed called @PSTAalerts! This feed provides real time information regarding bus service interruptions, including incidents that could delay buses, route detours, even a bus that has broken down, so that customers aren’t left stranded. PSTA isn’t the only public transit agency with its own dedicated Twitter feed for service alerts, the New York City MTA, the Washington (DC) Metro Area Transit Authority, and MARTA (Atlanta) all have feeds that transmit tweets regarding service interruptions.
