Today, I would like to take a moment to give a huge shout out to all those who serve in the US military! I really appreciate all of the hard work that each and every servicemember has done to protect our country from harm. As you very well know, many servicemembers end up giving the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country’s freedom; whether it be during wartime, or peacetime.
I personally know many people who are either currently serving in the military, or who have previously served; whether it is a friend, family member, colleague, classmate, etc. And I know that most everyone here in the US knows at least one person who either is currently serving, or has served in the past.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Armed Forces Day; it was created by the US Department of Defense (by then Defense Secretary Louis Johnson) on August 31, 1949, according to the Department of Defense website.
