System Overview
The remainder of this page will go through a general overview of the Votran bus system.
Network Structure
Like many transit districts, Votran operates on a hub-spoke system by which routes travel out of centralized transfer points. The main transfer center in the system is the Transfer Plaza in Daytona Beach, which accommodates 25 bus routes. Smaller transfer centers are located along the Daytona Beach Oceanside and DeLand, with various secondary transfer points located throughout Volusia County.

The Votran Transfer Plaza opened in 1993 and has 13 bus bays (which are referred to as Gates), as well as customer and employee restrooms, and a customer service center. This vital transit hub is central to the downtown area of Daytona Beach and is only a couple of blocks from the intracoastal. During the past year, the facility has undergone a refresh which includes updated customer amenities, new bus bay signage, & a new air conditioning system for the employee areas of the building.
