HART currently possesses a fleet of about 170 buses, far less than what the district should have to be able to adequately serve the needs of Hillsborough County. However, funding constraints do not currently allow HART to significantly expand their fleet, which something that is echoed throughout the United States as municipal, state, and federal budgets for transit have been constrained. In fact, HART has gradually lost buses due to various budget & service reductions over the past 15 years.
Below is a brief summary of the types of buses that HART currently operates:

Gillig Low Floor Diesel

Gillig Low Floor Diesel (BRT rear)

Gillig BRT Diesel (Suburban)

Gillig Low Floor CNG

Gillig BRT Plus CNG

Champion/Chevrolet Crusader
