The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (CFRTA) is the public transit operation for Osceola, Orange, & Seminole Counties, which includes the city of Orlando & the towns of Kissimmee & Sanford. The agency does business under the name of LYNX & elements of the agency (such as its logo) are based off of the animal – the Lynx. In keeping tune to this stylization, the agency refers to its fixed bus routes as Links, its flex van service as NeighborLink, & its limited-stop bus routes as FastLinks. The agency was first established as the Orange-Seminole-Osceola Transportation Authority (OSOTA), which did business under Tri-County Transit. The agency was rebranded to its current naming structures in 1994.

System Overview
LYNX’s fixed-route bus network comprises of roughly 68 routes, 3 of which are limited-stop FastLink routes, & another 3 are of the agency’s LYMMO routes that circulate through downtown Orlando. The agency also operates 11 NeighborLink flex-route van zones, connecting customers in lower populated areas to the fixed-route system. LYNX also provides vanpool service throughout its service region, Access LYNX paratransit service (which is contracted out to TransDev).

LYMMO
LYMMO is a premium circulator service in downtown Orlando that possesses Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) qualities such as stylized stations & frequent service. The LYMMO Orange Line (Link 60) was the first of the lines to launch in 1997 & operates in a virtually all-exclusive transit lane through the downtown’s core. During the 2010s, the Lime Line (Link 61) & the Grapefruit Line (Link 62) were launched to cover more of downtown & its immediate surroundings.
LYMMO routes operate 7-days-a-week, with service generally starting up at around 6 to 8am & running through 10pm. Depending on overall demand, the routes may operate as late as 12-midnight on Fridays & Saturdays. Please check the LYNX website for current schedules.

FastLink
FastLink is LYNX’s limited-stop/limited express service that provides quicker service to specific destinations than a local route. The fare for FastLink routes is the same as local routes.
For those who have used the HART system in Tampa, FastLink operates very similarly to their limited express service.
FastLink Routes 407 & 418 operate Monday through Saturday, while Route 441 only operates on weekdays. The 407 only operates limited trips during the AM peak, midday, & PM peak, while the 408 & 441 have a wider span of service during the day. Please check the LYNX website for current schedules.

NeighborLink
NeighborLink service is provided in certain rural portions of Osceola, Orange, & Seminole Counties, as well as other areas of the LYNX service region that have lower populations. The service operates as a flex-route zone system, but trip reservations are required – as vans do not travel a fixed route.
Most NeighborLink zones operate Monday through Saturday, with some zones only operating on weekdays. Please check the LYNX website for current operating times.
Customers may call 407-244-0808 to make a reservation, or utilize the Rides on Demand app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Network Structure
LYNX’s fixed-route buses largely operate on a hub-spoke system, with routes radiating out of centralized hubs. While street-side transfers can be made at numerous locations, the general street layout & broad expanse of the LYNX service region does not allow for true grid transfers outside of certain spots in Orlando.
Span of Operating Service
Many LYNX routes operate 7-days-a-week, with weekday service generally operating between 5:00am & 10:00pm, Saturday service generally operating between 6:00am & 9:00pm, & Sunday service generally operating between 7:00am & 8:00pm. However, many routes start/end outside of this general scope, with Link 48 beginning as early as 3:50am on weekdays & Link 8 ending as late as 2:30am on Tuesday through Saturday mornings. While no route operates a full 24-hour service schedule, Link 8 is the closest to operating somewhat of a 24/5 service schedule – operating almost continuously Monday through Friday.
Many core routes operate as frequent as every 15 to 20 minutes on weekdays, with 30 minute service during weekday evenings & most of the day on weekends. Many other urban routes operate every 30 to 45 minutes on weekdays, with hourly service on weekends. Most outskirt routes operate hourly service Monday through Saturday & may not operate Sundays.
Holiday Service
LYNX operates most of its fixed-route service & Access LYNX paratransit service as needed on most major holidays such as New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas. However, fixed-route service will operate on a Sunday schedule, with FastLink routes & NeighborLink service not operating.
