We Support Our Frontline!

While this image is not inclusive of all industries by which are considered essential, we must give credit where it is due to the many citizens who are continuing to provide vital services during these unprecedented times.

Thank you for all you do!

From hospital staff to restaurant owners, from first responders to construction workers, & everyone in between, public transportation benefits everyone! However, for those who typically work what many would consider irregular shifts, or working hours that fall outside of the long-traditional Monday through Friday – 9am to 5pm schedule, having access to transit has long been difficult, if not impossible. This has largely been due to the fact that most transit systems typically only serve those who fit into that traditional working schedule & the unwillingness of those who make decisions about funding & operating transit systems to enact widespread change.

While many transit systems today provide weekend service, as well as service going up until about 12-midnight each evening, this is not enough! In fact, there are many major cities that still aren’t able to provide 24/7 transit service to residents & visitors alike when they should be able to. This disparity in transit system operating hours often leaves those who work during evenings, overnights, & weekends stranded. When the Coronavirus pandemic gripped the globe in 2020, transit systems took a huge hit, forcing service to be curtailed – some temporarily & unfortunately, some permanently.

The purpose of this page is two-fold: first, I want to thank everyone who is considered an essential worker for everything that they do – especially those who have been there for us during the height of the global pandemic lockdowns, thank you! However, second, I want to highlight the importance of transit to our essential workers & that it is crucial to provide as much service around the clock as possible so that everyone is able to get to & from safely, efficiently, & quickly. Without our essential workers, our world simply cannot function!

My team members & I fully support our essential workers & everything that they do! I encourage everyone to please reach out to their respective transit agencies & governmental bodies, & express how important transit is to them & that transit needs to be properly funded so that everyone can get to where they need to go.
