Let’s take a look at a few of my fictional cities & communities…
Note:
This subsection contains information that is meant to be purely fictional. While there may be references to real life elements – such as buildings, infrastructure, & vehicles – within my fictional cities, all of these cities & communities are entirely of my own creation. Additionally, any names of individuals mentioned in my associated descriptions, documents, & photos are all purely fictional – with their names chosen at random. These fictional individuals are not connected to or affiliated with any real life individuals. Finally, with the advent of A.I. technology, many images shown in this subsection were created with A.I. tools such as WordPress’ own A.I. image generator tool & ChatGPT. As with any A.I. tool, accuracy cannot be guaranteed. However, the images are able to provide my readers with a basic interpretation of how my fictional cities & communities may look like if they existed in real life.
Portraits of my fictional characters, serving in respective government positions within my fictional cities, were created using The Sims 4, with editing done in Microsoft Paint.

NEXT STOPS:
Cindyville

The city of Cindyville is the earliest of my fictional cities – originally created in 2005 & named after a long-time friend of mine. The city is located within the fictional Toadstoolian Republic – within its fictional province of Leney – & is a fusion between the real-life cities of Tampa, FL & Nashville, TN, set along a bustling inland river & surrounded by low & mid-level mountains. The city’s vast cultural & musical influence has provided its nickname of The Harmony City. Cindyville is the capital city of the Leney Province.
The Downtown Skyline
Cindyville’s downtown skyline encompasses of buildings that are modeled after real life structures in both cities. This includes Tampa’s Rivergate Tower, 100 North Tampa, Truist Place, & the Hillsborough County Center, as well as Nashville’s 333 Commerce, The Pinnacle at Symphony Place, & The Bridgestone Tower. In the above image, the buildings modeled off of Tampa’s skyline are situated on the left side, while buildings modeled after Nashville’s skyline are situated on the right. The overall orientation of Cindyville places the left side buildings towards the east, while the right side buildings are placed towards the west. The Cindyville River primarily flows from east to west.
Population
The city of Cindyville & Cindyville County function as a consolidated body, with a consolidated population base of about 1 million people. The greater Cindyville Metropolitan Region comprises of a combined population of about 2,500,000. These population estimates are as of 2023.

Infrastructure
The city encompasses two major airports, a comprehensive mass transit system, & three primary Imperial Highways (federal limited access highways), with two secondary Imperial Highways serving as an inner loop & an outer loop respectively.
Government
As mentioned, the city of Cindyville & Cindyville County function as a consolidated body. This means that the city’s mayor is also the county mayor. There is a vice mayor who also serves as chair of the consolidated city-county council, as well as tertiary administrator who serves as the vice chair of the city-county council. The consolidated government follows the strong-mayor form of the mayor-council system & the tertiary administrator role is largely reserved for situations where the administrator needs to assist the mayor & vice mayor with tending to city & county administrative functions during a large-scale emergency.
Under normal business, the vice mayor presides over all city-county council meetings as council chair, with the tertiary administrator being vice chair & a de-facto at-large member. The county-council has six other at large seats & 39 individual district seats. Under the combined charter of Cindyville, city-county council meetings are held on the first & third Wednesdays of each month at 5:00pm local time.
Cindyville’s governing leadership is currently comprised of the following individuals:

Pauline Carswell
Mayor

Chad Kaur
Vice Mayor & Chair of the City-County Council

Gloria Tannenbaum
Tertiary Administrator & Vice Chair of the City-County Council
The Capitol

The skyline of The Capitol metropolis during sunset, with the Richardson Castle in the foreground. It’s not necessarily what I envisioned in comparison to how the actual street grid is laid out, but it’ll have to do for now. This image was created with ChatGPT.
Since 2012, I’ve always wanted to have a fictional metropolis that would build off of Toad Town from the Mario franchise. However, due to the high likelihood of me being slammed with legal action from Nintendo, I had no choice but to scale back dramatically from those thoughts. What I ultimately settled with is a sizeable government district that I simply refer to as The Capitol, though the official name is stated as The Toadstoolian Republic Capitol Government District.
The Downtown Skyline
While I wasn’t able to get ChatGPT to illustrate precisely how I’d like to view The Capitol as, the above image will have to do for now. The overall district contains elements from multiple real life cities – including New York City, Washington, D.C., Montreal, Paris, & Tokyo. The southern end of what is known as The Imperial Centre (kind of like Washington D.C.’s National Mall is the historic Richardson Castle – which is situated on the right side of the above image (& no, this is not what the actual castle looks like either, that’s A.I. for you).
Population
The district itself comprises of a total estimated population of 2 million as of 2023, with the broader region’s population estimated to be just over 9 million as of the same year.

Infrastructure
The district encompasses a major airport, a comprehensive mass transit system that includes a wide array of bus, subway, light rail, & suburban heavy rail options, & several major limited access highways – including a crucial east-west Imperial Highway, as well as a north-south Imperial Highway spur route.
Government
As the capitol of the Toadstoolian Republic, the district houses almost all government functions at the federal level. Unlike Washington, D.C. however, municipal level functions are not hinged upon what the federal legislative body does. The district is given full municipal autonomy & governance functions from the federal parliament – which allows the district to not only have its own mayor & vice mayor, but to have their own legislative body called The Capitol Council. The council is responsible for presenting & passing all legislative measures within the district.
The localized composition of the district is divided into several municipal sub-districts or Capitol Municipal Zones (think of how the City of Paris is structured with their arrondissements, these 27 zones each comprise of a zone president – who serves on The Capitol Council – & an 8-seat municipal council. Each municipal council is responsible for ensuring that district-wide legislative measures are enforced, but each zone can enact their own zone-wide measures, granted that they do not supersede laws passed by the higher levels.
The Capitol’s governing municipal-level leadership is currently comprised of the following individuals:

Mayor

Vice Mayor & Chair of the Capitol Council

There will be more to come
As the saying goes, Don’t bite off more than you can chew. While I intend to provide more content with regard to both of these fictional cities as time allows, I don’t intend to update this page in real time. Rather, I will likely be doing updates in larger batches based on notes that I’ve been able to compile over time. Subsections will also be added as warranted as I present more information about how these fictional cities & communities function.
